Teaching
The faculty and staff of CIPEG directly oversee two educational programs.
CIPEG in the Federal Government
This program delivers intensive courses to government agencies designed to provide government employees with a detailed understanding of crucial policy issues. CIPEG faculty and staff, CLIS faculty, and other professionals and scholars serve as the instructors in this program. Topics of courses include security, privacy, records management, classification, access, and other legal and policy issues.
E-Government Concentration at the College of Information Studies
Unique among LIS and Information Schools, the College of Information Studies has a concentration in the study of e-government. CLIS Students can enroll in the concentration to study the nature of government information, the role of the political process and information policy in shaping e-government, the reasons that cause populations to use or not use e-government, challenges to accessing e-government, the means of evaluating the impacts and successes of e-government, and other issues in designing, delivering, evaluating, and managing e-government.
